GHOST IN THE WOODS

so here is the story as i know it

this whole story is what has sparked the history bug in me that i get from my dad to learn and research my area

ok here goes you all know i live in the woods-this is an old tree farm/forest but long before that it was called Old Ebenezer

which was a settlement of Salzberg Germany protestants who came here for religious freedom. the river that they talk about on the historical marker is what my creek is

i am getting to the ghost calm down

ok so they moved here and had it rough .from what i read out of the journal of the pastor,lots of deaths from snake bites, consumptive disease,protracted disease, scurvy and dropsy .along with tons of young children either newborns or under 10 -pages and pages of death records.

one family named Rahn (real big in the area even today)had a 3 years old die on 3-26-1756 and then a 8 day old on 4-16-1756 .the area was not good for crops ect and alot of them were starving .

ok so now this brings me to the ghost

the Hobby girls have hammocks in their woods/backyard and the older one got real spooked and told her daddy that there was a little girl with dark hair out there just staring at her and she really scared her she wouldn't go away .so he goes to look because little girls in the woods alone is just not a good idea .

there was nothing there .he told her no it was just shadows or your imagination its ok .she let it go .

so a day or so later he had his 4 year old niece in the woods with him and she told him that" that little girl really scared her she just kept looking at her .he said no honey there is nothing there it is ok .she insisted that she was not a nice girl and she made him stop what he was doing to take her out of the woods - she was real bothered by it and would not let it go .

well the moms of these two were talking and it came up and they asked the girls about it at the same time in two different houses -and the older girl said she had long dark hair and a long white dress and just stared at her but that daddy said it was not real .the four year old described her the exact same way except said she was all white(pale) like a vampire. and that she was not her friend and she really scared her

now there are times at night that my dogs really really need to go outside but they will stop short and turn tail back inside and we have to drag them out,then there are time that there is a critter in the woods and they charge out .but now that i have heard about this little girl i have to wounder if it is her that makes them not want to go out .also big C says that he has had lots of times that he is outside at night smoking and swears that he sees or hears something but when he looks in that direction there is nothing

so being the good catholic girl that i am i was in the woods TODAY( in the sunshine) with my Holy water blessing the woods and praying .much to the enjoyment and amusement of big C .so i hope that this works .cause if i see this little girl -sad little lost soul or not my big ol chicken butt is running to Texas to hide in my Mommy's bed leaving Georgia long behind

more tid bits

the boys have become gardeners~ they have started a stick garden with a rock or two and some moss~ ya see i told them that nature lives outside and wants to stay there so this way i dont have sticks and rocks breaking things and poking things in my house~ so far it has worked but i fear that we wont be able to pull in the driveway after too long~~~~~~~
we found this indoor bounce house thing through a friend called leaping lizards~way neat even big C got in~
my sister goes to one in Texas~i wanted to go but never got a chance before we left~so now we have one~neat neat neat !

ok last tid bit

big C went to work and was told that the 2nd shift supervisor was layed off so guess who is now the 2nd shift guy~i dont know what this guy did anyway because 2nd shift always called here at all hours~so starting tomorrow he will go to work at 3 pm and come home after midnight~things they are a changing around here* now i cant have the hot guys coming over all day and i cant get my nails done nor can i eat bon bons all day*but i can let him answer the door when the Jehovah witness come knocking~ill get a break that way~also the boys can spend time with daddy when he is not totally wiped out after work~now work can have him after we wipe him out~we will work it all out one way or another~we always do im really more flexable then i look .i think it was all those years i trained for the Olympics HA HA HA

great weekend !

we have had a GREAT weekend ! yes i know that my children have put out an ad for a new cooler mommy .but other then that ,it has been great .

we had tons of fun friday night with our friends and the four wheelers -(till it was time to stop) and then saturday the doorbell was ringing at 1030 for the boys to come back out again. they were already in the back yard but glad to go with the gang .we played basketball,soccer ,chalk,bikes,playdoh...everything that we could drag out we did -i need to take a picture of the front of the house when we are out playing so you can see all the junk that comes out .then Mrs Hobby called us over to do the slip and slide ! oh my that was great !

they loved it ! she is the cool mommy . then we went for a walk down the dirt rd to the creek behind our house .saw some friends on their four wheeler .threw sticks in the creek and came home for more outside time with friends - i love it when daddy is not working all day because that that gives me time to do stuff in the house while they are out front .

today we went to church and after daddy wakes up (he is old and needs naps)we will go out and play in the sprinkler - the weather here is great ! sunny and a slight breeze- about 82 or so -i dont know if this is how it is all summer here but i hope so. we will hit our one year mark in august . well hope your day goes well .love ya

so today we played outside and after dinner we promised the neighborhood gang we would come back out and play again .well when we came back out there was little Miss Emma and her real cute tiny little blue four wheeler .the one mommy knew she had and was so very grateful that the boys did not .

until now.

well they ran full speed over there and our dear dear friend Mrs hobby was there,now you will remember that Mrs hobby is the one who gave them their first four wheeler ride .

so they jumped up and down begged and pleaded and Mrs hobby (cool mommy that she is) helped me not to ruin their lives and make them look like babies in front of all the guys .

she ran along beside them while she did the gas and let them circle the house .

she is too cool .all the while Emma's daddy is telling big C and i how he got a great deal on it and man the boys would just love it .

as we go back to our house to play with some of the neighborhood that has already gone to our house to play with our toys that are outside and in the garage

little c sits in with big c and crying ,sobbing tells him that we need a four wheeler, that he doesn't want to share everyone Else's four wheeler .

OK heart breaking as it is folks -cause i know you are all going oh that poor little boy needs a four wheeler - you have to all remember who we are talking about -these boys are the Humphrey boys the ones who go 90 mph from the time they wake up till they crash at night the ones who when someone says "oh its OK they cant hurt it " take that as a personal challenge - and they can .

so no they do not need something that runs on gas -you know gas that explodes - nor do they need wheels that can move them faster then i can run.

if you have forgotten who these children are because we have been here almost a year .come spend a week with them .

and daddy and i will go on vacation

i dont know how or when it happen but i do know that it is chads fault ! all his !

you say let me get the food out before it burns - you get the song ,put on sunscreen before you burn ,you get the song .no not the whole thing just those lines . you really dont have to say anything sometimes it just happens -hes like a record player that is stuck - ok for you young hip folks - a cd that gets stuck .

so we are on Hilton head island with my mom in law and we are in the elevator going DOWN
and he started - i looked at the other people and smiled and a woman says oh Johnnie cash .i said yep he likes that song .and the doors open she walks out but not before saying to me "it was a good movie but not one that he should have seen" - aaaagggghh
you all know me. my kids dont get to watch most things that other do. so you know there is no way i let them watch the Johnnie cash movie ! daddy just likes the song .it could be worse
i am going to get a legal document printed up giving me a waver stating that any embarrassing , lude or rude behavior is not he fault of said mother but all the fault of the biological father .that way i have proof that i am the only sain one in this house

ok my ever busy ,supermom of a friend julie .you know the one who just had her 7th child on the 29th .has found a way to find free time to get to the computer and once again make me feel like an underachiever -hee hee - its all the bon bons i eat .any who she has tagged me - and i, not being up to speed on the new cool blog things dont know how to pass this on but i think that i just put it on here for all to read - and julie i only know you with a blog so i cant pass the tag on to anyone else. you super cool fly chick .
ok 7 random facts about me
i really like the number 7 so this is good for me
1) i wanted to wait to marry chad till the 7th year we were dating but couldn't hold out that long so did it in the 6th (little did i know)
2) i have a green tree frog gang that tries to eat me as i walk(no wait run screaming) into my house at night
3) my two favorite songs are put a little love in your heart and say a little prayer - i would sing them to the boys while pregnant and when they were tiny - now they wont listen
4) Johnnie cash has been reincarnated in my house -i will blog later
5) i always wanted either 2,4,or 6 kids -ummm stopping @ 2 i think-cause they have won
6) not a day goes by without me thinking about Jessica
